"Rebel. Do it. Be Happy in your own skin"
I am happy to announce that I just officially became a "published photographer"!
But what does that mean?
In the photography community it sounds prestigious if next to your name you can write "published and awarded photographer", those titles always sounded very appealing. It meant that the work was recognized and worth of being shared. As an amateur, it's easy to think that those titles are only given to you if someone notices your work and chooses you. It's good to create content, but unless your posts go viral on Instagram for some magical reason, your work won't get noticed unless you put in some marketing work. I got to understand that my work would never be featured if I didn't first submit it.

I had been following @NudeYogaGirl for a while and loved her mission of "creating art with her body to break the perceptions of nudity". She's been featured in Vogue, Forbes, Harper’s Bazaar and others. She attracted a community of women wanting to be part of the movement, and she created a magazine that would feature "Natural bodies and real stories", called Nudamag. After following the posts from a couple first issues and seeing how the vision of the magazine clicked with mine, I noticed their call for submissions for the next issues, and decided to send them some of my work. The Nudamag instagram account rapidly grew to have more than 230k followers, and a lot of positive feedback.
Soon after, NudeYogaGirl got back to me and said some of my photos were selected to be part of an upcoming issue, and asked if they could interview the model, Amy. I was beyond excited, but I had no idea which photos they chose and what questions they were going to ask her. And let me tell you I was thrilled to see the article when it came out in their ninth issue. We got a four page spread in which they published 3 photos together with Amy's story, and what a story! I am so proud and humbled to create art with such incredible people, and so excited to be part of the mission of the magazine "to create a worldwide community where everyone can feel beautiful exactly the way they are.”
So here I invite you to read Amy's story, and check out the rest of the magazine.
